Our Process
*Some simpler and more straightforward projects like windows, doors, and other projects do not require the Phase 2: “Design Phase”, but most projects will require all 4 phases of our process to make sure you have an experience and home that you love for years to come.

Phase 1
Initial Conversation & Appointment
Purpose:
- Make sure we’re a good fit—for both sides.
- Listen to your vision, and present a rough price estimate.

What Happens:
- We’ll get in touch to have a quick conversation about your goals, timeline, and rough budget. We will explain how our process works and answer any early questions.
- Once it sounds like we are able to help you, we will visit your home to hear and see your vision, take measurements and discover any constraints or opportunities to make your vision come to life. Before we leave, we will discuss design, quality expectations, and rough budget.
- After that, we will send you the “Design Services Agreement” with the estimated price range for your project.
- In about a week or two, we will set up a meeting with you to go over a 3D rendering of your new space based on your vision and the limitations of the space. In that meeting we will also review the broad scope of work and give an estimated price range for the project.
Your Commitment:
- 5-10 minute conversation to establish if we are a good fit.
- 1 hour in-home appointment to hear your vision and take measurements.
- 1 hour video call to review the design and get your feedback.
- This phase is totally free.
Outcome:
- You’ll know if moving forward makes sense.
- We’ll tell you honestly if your project fits what we do best.
- You will receive an estimated price range for the project.
- This phase is about aligning visions and expectations.
Needed To Move Forward:
- 5% Design Services Fee That Is Applied Toward Total Project Cost (5% based on the midpoint of the estimated range. Design Fee is Non-Refundable).
- Signed Design Services Agreement.
Phase 2
Design Phase
Purpose:
- Turn ideas into a real, detailed, buildable plan.

What Happens:
- One of our design professionals will work up to 20 hours on your project including: meeting with you to ask you more about your vision for the new space, provide samples and visuals to help you make your design selections, create very realistic renderings to help you visualize your new space, and source all of the materials that you select.
- We will use the detailed design to get accurate specifications and quotes from architects, engineers, and specialized subcontractors.
- Once selections are made and quotes are received, we will put together a finalized and detailed estimate down to the penny based on the specific selections you made. If we need to change the budget, we can easily swap selections in or out to update the price.
Your Commitment:
- Meet with the designer to craft a personal design for your unique space and make detailed timely selections.
- Allow access to your property to the professionals on our team to make sure we can assemble an accurate and final price for your project’s construction.
- Disclose any information that might affect the outcome and efficiency of your project’s design.
Outcome:
- Clearly defined scope of work with each specific selection being made.
- Detailed visuals of your space to make sure you absolutely love it before we commit to build it.
- Clearly defined estimate down to the penny based on the selections made.
- Full alignment before construction starts.
- No surprises, no vague assumptions.
Needed To Move Forward:
- 25% Deposit Paid
- “Construction Services Agreement” Signed
Phase 3
Construction
Purpose:
- Turn ideas into a real, buildable plan.
- Deliver the plan with professionalism and care.

What Happens:
- Once the “Construction Services Agreement” is signed and the 25% deposit is received, we get right to work applying for necessary permits, ordering materials, and scheduling your project.
- Meet with your Project Team, and be introduced to your Project Manager who is your go-to point of contact for the entire project and who will keep you informed of any updates.
- We arrive on the day we promised, and set up our work area to interfere with your life as little as possible.
- Several times throughout the project and once the project is complete, the project manager will walk-through the project with you to give you the opportunity to give feedback or ask questions.
Your Commitment:
- Timely decisions if changes arise.
- Progress payments (project milestone payments) per “Construction Services Agreement”.
- Periodic walk-throughs with the Project Manager giving feedback or asking questions.
Outcome:
- A completed space that reflects the agreed-upon design and scope.
- Execution is smoother because the work was done up front.
